Reckless Disregard with Employees' Personal Information
For those of you who didn't catch last evening's 6pm news on Channel 5.
Mike, I think the Chief (Timbo) should give himself a written reprimand or a demotion. He has demoted and suspended employees for a lot less than he has done here. He wrote a letter to the employees stating he nows who did this, THEN FIRE YOURSELF. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. Timbos world is crumbling, because he is way over his head. He should have stuck to halo.
Chief white should resign he has never even been close to what it takes to be a fire chief or captain . His terror tatics have cost jobs and property. this BOD needs to be disolved And investigated for any possible criminal actions
Everyone's personal information was posted on the MFPD website except the board members and their pay. Are they not part of the budget? How can you edit them out of the documents and not see everyone else’s Social Security numbers sitting there? Why was any of this information posted online, in the first place? I am sure we will find out all the answers and other facts when the call prints the court transcripts. Where is the Truth Detector when you need him? What a shame!

Why didn't Nick Fahs notify Chief White when the problem was discovered? Instead he went to the media and endangered his members' information. Fahs obviously put politics and the union's hatred of the board above his members welfare. Fahs is the person who should resign.
Whoever approved the posting (wonder who) is ultimately responsible. Blame shifting is not acceptable, sometimes you have to take the credit good or bad and deal with it, stop blaming everyone else. When you are the chief you are ALWAYS the chief 24 x 7 X 365.
Has anyone seen the blogs from the news story by Mike Owens on KSDK web site. These are from individuals that seen the story and form there own opinion. I heard from a firefighter that lives up the street from me that Hilmer and White was planning this blunder for a while.

Now that the damage is done, it is important to access the impact to your personal financial security. You must ask yourself, what can happen to me, now? Although, I am happy to see the district purchasing credit protection for all the employees and past employees which were exploited on their website. There is still a very important question that needs to be answered. How long does this protection last and how long will the district be offering this protection? This is a very big deal I am sure to everyone put at risk by the district. Hopefully, these questions are being asked by those involved.
Posting personal information such as social security #s, etc. is a violation of HIPAA laws. This is an extremely serious situation. The damage has been done and cannot be reversed. Interesting point: the BOD's information was not disclosed .. hhmmmm. There is most certainly a paper trail as to why this happened. This is a malicious criminal act that needs investigated ASAP. Now that social security #s are in the hands of the public -- this could snowball into devistation for some employees. DISBAND THIS BOD IMMEDIATELY!!!!

I heard when the injured employees went to the hospital today, admitting told them they already had all their information from the districts website.
