Mehlville Fire Nonsense

First, let me say this. If this really started on Sept. 11th, it has to be one of the tackiest displays by a local elected leader that I am aware of.
Second, one board member does not have the authority to make this happen. Either the chief agreed with the request and thought it was in the best interest of the fire district and acted on his own authority or the board must have made a decision.
Third, I can see where there might be some discussion about the union’s stickers on the district’s vehicles, but I would also go back to my second comment.
Fourth, what possible problem could anyone have with the high school stickers on the fire trucks?
Fifth, I really thought the Call would have covered this, but it wasn’t in Thursday’s edition. They like soft controversy even when they are fond of the subject such as Bonnie in this case. Now if they don’t like the subject, they run a two page editorial filled with innuendo, then they find a way to bring it up repeatedly over the next year/s. Watch for a couple of letters to the editor about this. Then it will be followed up with longer letters, filled with nonsense, by guys like Stonebraker who since he found religion, got straight, got politically connected and started selling vacuum cleaners thinks he knows everything.

Mr. Anonymous,
Ouch, that hurt. Perhaps sir, you might try to articulate why you think such things of me.

I don't work there, but I can tell you Hilmer and that troll Stegman are ruining that Fire District. They are running off good people and hiring people that don't know what they are doing.

It appears the Suburban Journal has written a story about this. I really don't like the fact that I get the Southwest version instead of the South County edition. At least they try to cover the news that you can use. I plan to look into the coverage of the fire district a little more. I do know the relationship between Milligan and Hilmer is way too close. Milligan has been seen coming out of Hilmer's house. Hilmer probably is telling Milligan what to print in his weakly, non-local direct mail trash.

The union is ruining the Mehlville Fire District. Most of the taxpayers think these guys are a bunch of cry babies, not heros. They have lost their power totally and the public views them as greedy for more of their tax dollars. I wish I made a six figure income like them!

Dear Anonymous,
I really don' feel your comments are all that accurate, but you are entitled to them. You wish you made a six figure salary like the senior leadership of the fire district, me too! I also wish I made what the ER Docs do at St. Anthony's Hospital and even better a vice president at the brewery. I am not a socialist though and understand that we compete in the market with our skills and our compensated for them. You probably are paid or were paid what you are worth. Therefore you suffer from some envy issues and public employees make great targets especially when you do it anonymously.

4:49 on 10/6,
I don't share your opinion about Mehlville firemen. My neighbors and church agrees with me also. Maybe if Hilmer ever had to work for a living he would treat the Mehlville employees better. Lots of info to come out very soon about this sham of a human being. He doesn't care about anything except his ego. Very bitter little man.
