It sounds like the whole community is really getting into the fundraiser this weekend.
The guys will be out BBQing from 11am to 7pm on Friday and 11am to 4pm on Saturday.
They'll be at Faith Lutheran Church at Erb and Telegraph.
This is going to be a great event for a great cause!
I'm told 18 fire departments in the area are providing equipment and at 1pm on Saturday there will be a very special ceremony.
Please share with your e-mail lists and tell them the food's a great deal as well.

Was out there today for along time great photos and what a display of patriotism. by the local fire districts and the Mehlville Firefighters. You all are the best. Great Food Great people It will be better tomorrow. Pls come and join the firefighters and Local servicemen and Faith Lutheran church is awsome
I forgot to mention the car show. With the firefighting equipment, this makes for a great family event. I had the chicken,which was excellent, but needed more napkins. Faith Church should be commended for providing their facilities.There was a big crowd, but there was plenty of parking and the wait wasn't long for food tonight.
I am soooooo proud of the members of local 1889. These men and woman are the greatest and I was very proud to help with their benefit for Corp. Nicely. A big thanks also goes to all of the neighboring fire agencies that sent trucks and men to the event. The fire service is a great family and the members are true american heros. Hey Mike,I'm proud of the residents of South County for stepping up to the plate and making this a huge success. Is there any truth to the rumor that Aaron Hilmers wife was there? I have heard he has been seen in public in the last few weeks , and not sure if it was his wife.
I understand that low life chief had several employees drug tested this morning. The wrong one was drug tested the dope head chief shoud have been tested. He is just mad that the Union showed his ass at the benefit for the injured Marine. It was great that idiot was not there. THE GUYS DID A GREAT JOB AND SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR THERE THOUGHTFULNESS. Who needed a fire truck from Mehlville when all the other fire departments were there to help out an injured marine:
How proud I am of MY community & MY firefighters for the awesome show of community patriotism, unity & selfless service they displayed for Corporal Todd Nicely.
How embarrassing and shameful it was to not have a SINGLE Mehlville Fire engine, squad or ambulance present in a show of support for Corporal Nicely!
Also pitifully sad is that the Mehlville Fire District Board of Directors and our Fire Chief Tim White were nowhere to be seen either day of the benefit.
Mr. Hilmer, Ms. Stegman and Mr. Ryan as well as Chief White, you should hang your heads in shame and get down on your knees and thank God that Corporal Nicely doesn’t have YOUR sense of loyalty and unity in doing what is morally right. You take your freedom for granted. Without the likes of Corporal Nicely’s, you would not have a kingdom to rule and your freedom to control and verbally bash as well as intimidate others would be lost.
My firefighters in Local 1889 ROCK! They are my heroes. The Board of Directors and Fire Chief are sad, pitiful examples of a power struggle in progress. When was the last time any of you gave fully of yourselves and provided truly selfless serviced without running your mouth and telling us how wonderful you are?
Thank you, thank you, thank you Local 1889 for what you did and for all that you do. Thank you Faith Lutheran Church for being such kind, warm and caring individuals and opening your church for the Local to use for this benefit.
God bless Local 1889 & Faith Lutheran Church as well as all of the other Fire Districts who sent a Fire Engine or ambulance with personnel so children and adults could see what Local 1889 firefighters use to save their lives and their houses.
Thank you also to all the fire districts (except Mehville) who provided the children with fire helmets and allowed them to explore the inside of your truck and have their picture taken. You are their heroes as well as mine.

I am so disappointed. Instead of putting aside our differences for 2 days he attempts to put a black cloud over the event.
Then on Sunday he prders breathalizer tests of the select employees that participated in the event!

Ms Mitchell, I need say no more you said it very well. Thank you so much for your praise and comments on both Corp. Nicely and the men and woman that serve the Mehlville Fire District. My only comment is that Chief White is lowest of the lowest of mankind and how the district can keep him as fire chief I will never know. There is no dout that there needs to be a change of the board and a change of the fire chief if the citizens of the Mehlville fire district want the service that they deserve and by the way thank you Assistant Chief Hendricks for your support on Friday.

Aaron Hilmer must be taking driving lessons from Bill Milligan, Aaron received a speeding ticket recently. I wonder if Him and Bill were racing to get as far away from the benefit as possible. Since they were both absent from the affair.
The BOD,Chief White and James Stonebraker may have tried to put a damper on this past weekend. But Local 1889 and the other fire districts along with Faith Lutheran Church. With the Help of the good people of south county were able to raise 30,000 Dollars for Corp Nicely. I consider this a win win one way showing the true colors of the BOD, White And Stonebraker. And one showing the Incredible gratitude and professioalism of the men and woman of this Local. I am very proud to have served my country bur im even more proud of the men and woman of Local 1889 and the community in which they serve. Thank you and God Bless.
