Taking a Joke

To those who would give me grief for telling a joke about a drunk, I say “Lighten up.” Sure, I understand it’s an addiction, but most jokes poke fun at our human weaknesses. Let’s move on to someone I like to poke fun of on a regular basis, Mr. William (Bill) T. Milligan, owner, president, treasurer, general manager, photographer and ambassador of good will* for the Call Newspapers.

Let’s look at why his, and his newspaper’s, credibility can be important to their readers. Let’s assume, for the sake discussion, someone with the editorial authority at a local paper has a serious drinking problem. That would be his business according to most people. But let’s also assume you live in a municipality that’s business is very much scrutinized by this newspaper. Let’s also assume, one of the leaders in your municipality has a drinking problem affecting his performance and is getting favorable coverage from his drinking buddy or at least someone who has a lot in common with him. Do you think that could cloud the facts?

Now, look at what we have witnessed, either personally or in public records about the Call and its management. What have his former employees; business partner, spouse, elected officials and the State of Missouri told us about them?

Forget about alcohol abuse. Can we trust them to look into lies, fraud, tax evasion, reckless driving and violence against women when it comes to our public officials? I’ve lost my confidence in them long ago. How about you?

*His words, not mine. Taken from public records.

what watering hole would these drinking buddies hang out at if they chose too?

That was all theoretical of course, but in going with the same line, I would say they would probably meet at the office or at one's home. Say, that reminds me. People have seen Bill Milligan and/or his auto at Mr. Hilmer's
( President, Mehlville Fire Board) house. Did Mr. Hilmer invite him over for a cocktail?I wonder what he was doing in there. Should he be so buddy buddy as to visit him at home? Again, what do you expect?

I hpe you have a good lawyer to defend you against your libelous muck about Aaron Hilmer.

I was present at Mr. Hilmer's house on the only two occasions Bill Milligan appeared there. Mr. Hilmer recalls no other visits by Mr. Milligan. The first was when the voters of South County defeated Mehlville Schools Proposition A. Mr. Hilmer and Mr. Stonebreaker both led the effort against the .97 per hundred $ tax increase. Milligan came by, shot photos and left without drinking anything. The second was last April when Ed Ryan defeated Dennis Skelton for Mehlville Fire Board. Mr. Milligan came and took photos and left agin without drinking. That is the truth. I know this doesn't fit your conspiracy theories.

You guys are kidding me, right? You're like the dumb liberal, Colmes, on FOX. Surely, you can't be true Hilmer groupies. I asked a question;Did Mr. Hilmer invite him over for a cocktail? According to you guys, he did. And the idea that you kept your eyes on him to tell me 1 1/2 years later that he didn't have a drink, well, I find that creepy. I don't know or care if he consumed water, beer or-------------. I don't pretend to. Here'a a newsflash for you both, I've been to lots victory parties in S. County over the last 15 years, Milligan, nor anybody else from the Call covered the events. He wasn't there to photograph the party as much as he was to kiss up to Hilmer and his money.
As far as Milligan only being there at night for the two parties, wrong groupies!!! He was seen leaving Hilmer's house in the middle of the day! That's a fact. Wanna call a lawyer, go ahead.
Now I don't care if he was drinking or swapping spit with someone at Hilmer's house, what he was doing was giving him favorable coverage. That's not a conspiracy, that's a fact. What's funny is that you guys really don't see a problem with it. If he only attended a victory party/ies at Congressman Gepheart's house, you'd be crying boo hoo. Next you won't have a problem with Rush doing drugs or Stonebraker doing
