Call Newspapers- Taxes and Corruption

What can most people agree on? We don't like paying taxes. After much discussion, we usually find that taxes are necessary to fund our civililized society. I don't know anyone who thinks we don't need the police and the military. We work through elected officials to establish policies which reflect our needs and desires. We often disagree on the details of these policies, but that makes for American politics. It's better than killing each other over stuff as happens in so many countries. We are fortunate to be part of this great nation.
As I look through public records, I see so many public officals who don't pay their taxes as required by law. Many of these officials have been endorsed or sponsored by Bill Milligan and the Call Newspapers. The Call is again late this year on one of their accounts. Last year, they paid it six months late and only after I contacted them and wrote about it. This is another example of their lack of moral authority to lecture our community's citizens. You can't count on the Call to report on their friends with fiscal improprieties. The amount of tax evasion, fraud, theft, legal contempt, and threats made by these individuals fills the court records yet they are not reported by the Call. These are the same people who set your tax rates and hire staffs that serve your families.

Mike, a real crusader like the "paper" shouldent have to worry about paying their taxes! Why these paragons of virtue only exist to tell us what to do, not do it themselves!

You know that they had good intentions, so what's the problem!

By the way what sort of chump change four flusher hasen't got $57 bucks to send to the County?

Tom,
They did the same thing last year. They also filed their registration with the state months late. Let the mayor of your town provide something to them a few hours late and they'll raise holy hell. Do as they say not as they do.

Mark Twain said it best when it comes to the "paper."

I just saw where someone raked me over the coals for once paying my propert taxes late. How can I show my face in public? The county had my Dodge as a 92 when it was made in 1993. Due to that, I had underpaid my taxes ten bucks. Even the lady with the Dept. of Revenue chuckled at my fines, penalty 23 cents and interest 6 cents. Not much of a pattern. I think for credit score and security clearances are OK.

What about all of your other late tax payments?

I don't know what you're talking about. Could you be specific? Do you work for the IRS? I'll tell you what, dig around all you want. Then give me the facts. Then I'll add the interest and penalties of all late payments made to any taxing authority, multiply that times five, and donate that amount to Lydia's House ( a safe haven for abused women) in (dis)honor of the Call Newspapers.

Mike, I think we are getting to someone here! How does it feel to be one of the two most hated people in South County?

Darn, I do love it so!
